1)Challenges faced by Jawans at Siachen Glacier:- The challenges faced by soldiers posted in Siachen Glacier stem from the peculiar terrain and weather conditions.

The major challenges due to inclement weather conditions are reduced human body efficiency, bright sunlight leading to snow blindness, blizzards and white out conditions.The troops deployed at forward posts bear the risk of avalanches, crevasses on glaciated surfaces and have to negotiate Ice walls apart from facing the common ailments associated with high altitude and glaciated terrain.

2)Proposal to set up Defence Industrial Corridor In Salem, Tamil Nadu:- Hon’ble Finance Minister in his budget speech (2018-19) had announced setting up of two Defence Industrial Corridors in the country.In pursuance to the said announcement, it has been decided to develop one such corridor in Tamil Nadu and the other one in Uttar Pradesh.

3)Celebrating 20 Years of Kargil Vijay Diwas:- The year 2019 marks the 20th anniversary of the successful culmination of Operation Vijay wherein brave soldiers of the Indian Army overcame seemingly insurmountable odds, hostile terrain, weather, and a determined enemy occupying dominating heights, to win the Kargil war. On this momentous occasion, the Indian Army is celebrating this victory in memory of its brave martyrs with events covering a myriad spectrum.

One of the major events planned during the celebrations is the relay of a Victory Flame from National War Memorial, New Delhi to Kargil War Memorial, Dras. The Victory Flame symbolizes the coalescence of the souls of the Kargil War martyrs.

4)Meghalaya becomes 1st state to ensure Water Conservation:- Meghalaya became 1st state in India to ensure conservation of water and have its own State Water Policy.

5)Operation Milap:- Under Operation Milap of Delhi Police, Delhi Police Crime Branch has rescued 333 missing children from the city and handed them over to their families in different parts of country.

It was launched in December 2014 as a project under which children are rescued. Under Operation Milap Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Delhi Police has been set up.
