1)President of India Launches ‘100 Million for 100 Million’ Campaign :On his 81st birthday by launching a ‘100 Million for 100 Million’ Campaign organized by the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation.

This scheme is aimed at changing the life of over 100 million children who are out of school and are denied a childhood and facing exploitation in many ways.

2)The Ministry of Civil Aviation released the National Civil Aviation Policy (NCAP)-2016 on 15th June 2016 with a vision

i)to create an eco-system to make flying affordable for the masses and to enable 30 crore domestic ticketing by 2022 and 50 crore by 2027

ii)International ticketing to increase to 20 crore by 2027.
iii)Similarly, cargo volumes should increase to 10 million tonnes by 2027.

3)Cyclonic Storm, VARDAH over southeast Bay of Bengal.




4)The Lifeline Express or Jeevan Rekha Express is World's first hospital train run by the Impact India Foundation. It was developed in collaboration with the Indian Railways and Health Ministry and has been funded by Impact UK, international charitable sources.

5)CCI or the Competition Commission of India : Competition Commission of India is a body of the Government of India responsible for enforcing The Competition Act, 2002 throughout India

and to prevent activities that have an appreciable adverse effect on competition in India.

It was established on 14 October 2003. It became fully functional in May 2009 with Dhanendra Kumar as its first Chairman.

It replaced the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission.

8)The Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA): provides for universalisation of access to and improvement of quality at the secondary stage.

In it’s Global Education Monitoring Report, 2016, UNESCO has claimed that India will be half a century late in achieving its universal education goals.

The Report also states that India will achieve universal primary education by 2050, universal lower secondary education (Grades VI - VIII in case of India) by 2060 and universal upper secondary education (Grades IX-XII in case of India) by 2085.
 

9)Dr Jitendra Singh has called for promoting the concept of “home-stay” tourism in Northeast. Citing the success of such experiment in States of Sikkim and Meghalaya, he said, such exclusive and personalized approach does not only increase the tourist inflow, but also generates new avenues of livelihood for local youth and families.
 

10)Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had set up an inter-departmental group on Islamic Banking. Entire exercise was aimed at promoting financial inclusion, accessing huge market potential to attract finance from Gulf countries for infrastructure development.

Islamic banking is based on the Shariat law banking in which interest  payment is not there band and the customer enter into a pre decided agreement which is on the basis of sharing profit and loss.
