1)Ministry of Coal has decided to convert all papers and documents into digital format in keeping with the Prime Minister’s Digital India Initiative.
It has fully implemented e-office application on 17-10-2016 and the entire file work in the Ministry is now being done electronically.
The digitization process is expected to be completed by the end of this fiscal year.

2)As per the current FDI policy, foreign investment up to 49% is permitted under automatic route and beyond 49% through Government approval route wherever it is likely to result in access to modern technology or for other reasons to be recorded.

The foreign investment proposals beyond 49% are considered by Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) under Ministry of Finance. FIPB is an inter-ministry body having representatives of Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Home Affairs and other concerned Departments.

7)Salient features of the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY) are as follows:
 

        i.            To implement various development and welfare projects/programs in mining affected areas.

      ii.            To minimize/mitigate the adverse impacts, during and after mining, on the environment, health and socio-economics of people in mining districts.

    iii.            To ensure long-term sustainable livelihoods for the affected people in mining areas.

    iv.            High priority areas like drinking water supply, health care, sanitation, education, skill development, women and child care, the welfare of aged and disabled people, skill development and environment conservation will get at least 60%  share of the funds collected under DMF.

      v.            40% of the DMFs funds will be utilized for the following areas: (i) physical infrastructure; (ii) irrigation; (iii) energy and watershed development; and (iv) any other measures for enhancing environmental quality in mining district.
