1)PM's Address at the Inauguration of the 104th Session of the Indian Science Congress, Tirupati


2) YEAR END REVIEW OF THE MiNISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS:


i) The Ministry of Home Affairs has constituted a Committee under the Chairmanship of Shri Madhukar Gupta, Retd. Home Secretary, in order to strengthen border protection and address the issue of gaps and vulnerability in border.

ii)Shri Kiren Rijiju participated in the Symposium on ‘Shared Values and Democracy in Asia’ in Tokyo.

3) Achievements of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer's Welfare:


i)PRADHAN MANTRI FASAL BIMA YOJANA: For Kharif crops, the premium charged would be up to 2% of the sum insured.  For Rabi crops, the premium would be up to 1.5% of the sum assured. For annual commercial and horticultural crops, premium would be 5 per cent. The remaining share of premium will be borne equally by the central and respective state governments.

ii)SOIL HEALTH CARD SCHEME :Launched by the central government in February 2015, the scheme is tailor-made to issue ‘Soil card’ to farmers which will carry crop-wise recommendations of nutrients and fertilizers required for the individual farms.

iii)PARAMPARAGAT KRISHI VIKAS YOJANA: For Promoting the Organic Farming.

iv)NATIONAL AGRICULTURE MARKET (NAM):Under this scheme, 250 mandis of 10 states have been integerated with e-NAM Portal.

v)NEEM COATED UREA: 100% neem coated area in the country. Due to this diversion of unauthorized use of urea by Chemical Factories has been stopped. Now farmers are getting urea in adequate quantity. Besides this, the cost of production is being reduced by 10-15% with the use of neem coated urea. Productivity will also increase with the use of Neem Coated Urea.

vi)RASHTRIYA GOKUL MISSION:With a view to conserve and develop indigenous bovine breeds, Rashtriya Gokul Mission, a new initiative under National Programme for Bovine Breeding and Dairy Development has been launched for the first time in the country, with an allocation of Rs 500 crore.

4) AGNI-IV has been successfully test fired.
The earlier name of the Agni-IV was Agni Prime.
