Today's News:

1)Iran and Pakistan to set up a Joint Border Reaction Force:- Iran and Pakistan have agreed to set up a joint border reaction force following to counter the increasing number of deadly attacks by militant groups on their frontier.

Border rapid reaction force would be set up for combatting terrorism since increased tensions over attacks on both sides of the frontier is causing heavy casualties.


2)Guided Missile Destroyer INS Imphal Launched:- The Indian Navy has launched its third guided missile destroyer, INS Imphal at Mazgaon Docks as part of its Project 15B.

INS Imphal has been designed indigenously by the Indian Navy’s Directorate of Naval Design, New Delhi.

Project 15Bravo (Project 15B) is aimed at adding state-of-the-art warships to the naval fleet. INS Vishakhapatnam was the first Project 15B ship and was launched in April 2015, while the second ship, INS Mormugao, was launched in September 2016.


3)IN Ships Kolkata and Shakti are at Qingdao, China to participate in IFR to mark 70TH Anniversary of PLA(N)(People's Liberation Army)

IN Ships Kolkata and Shakti entered Qingdao, China to participate in the International Fleet Review (IFR) as part of 70TH Anniversary Celebrations of PLA (Navy) on 21 Apr 19. Entry of IN Ships was marked by firing of 21 gun salute to the Peoples Republic of China.

The IN Ships had earlier called at Port Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam for a good will visit prior entering Qingdao.

4)IEPF Authority:- 

  • Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF) is for promotion of investors’ awareness and protection of the interests of investors.
  • It comes under Min. of Corporate Affairs.
  • For administration of Investor Education and Protection Fund Government of India has on 7th September, 2016 established Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority under the provisions of section 125 of the Companies Act, 2013.





The Authority is entrusted with the responsibility of administration of the Investor Education Protection Fund (IEPF), make refunds of shares, unclaimed dividends, matured deposits/debentures etc. to investors and to promote awareness among investors.
