1)The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated an international conference on ‘Bharat Bodh’ (Idea of Bharat) organized by the Indira Gandhi National Open University and Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal in New Delhi.


2)The state-owned Airport Authority of India (AAI) along with International Air Transport Association (IATA) launched SKYREV360, an e-billing solution for airport operators across the world.


  • SKYREV360 will help airport operators and air navigation services providers worldwide to overcome the issues of revenue leakages, besides reducing redundancies. 


  • It will also help in the reduction in disputes, easy integration with all external systems and curtailing the debt collection period to the minimum


3)Government has announced to bring high-speed broadband connectivity to every village by 2018.

Department of Telecom is working to achieve this target under the Universal Services Obligation fund (USOF).

In 2017-18 Union Budget speech, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had announced that Government will allocate Rs. 10,000 crore to expand the Bharat Net project in 2017-18 for high-speed broadband. Bharat Net aims to cover a total of 2.5 lakh village panchayats and is funded under the USOF. It was rebranded from the earlier National Optic Fibre Network (NOFN) project in April 2015. USOF was set up in 2012

The money for this fund comes through a Universal Access Levy charged from the telecom operators as a percentage of various licenses fees paid by them.

4)Union Women and Child Development Ministry has announced setting up of a compensation fund to provide financial help to children who are victims of sexual crimes under POCSO Act. The money for this fund will be drawn from Nirbhaya  Fund.

Nirbhaya Fund with corpus of Rs. 1000 crores was announced by governmnent for empowerment, safety and security of women and girl children.

5)India’s first Gramin Khel Mahotsav will be held in New Delhi from 25th to 31st March 2017. The games will be held in five sports disciplines Athletics, Volley Ball, Wrestling, Kabaddi and Kho-Kho.

6)Astronomers from NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) for the first time have discovered seven new Earth-sized exoplanets that may be able to sustain life.

These exoplanets are orbiting dwarf star named Trappist-1, which at 39 light years away. They could have some liquid water and maybe supporting life.
