1)KONKAN 16, the 2016 edition of the annual bilateral maritime exercise between the Indian Navy and the Royal Navy.

2)New Delhi Declaration on Education adopted during the 4th meeting of BRICS EDUCATION MINISTERS:

i)Initiate actions to formulate country-specific targets within the broader scope of the SDG4 and corresponding targets

ii)Share information on higher education systems, approval and recognition processes, quality assurance and accreditation across BRICS countries.

iii) Identify a nodal institution within each country and create an institutional network to share ICT policies, Open Educational Resources and other e-resources, including e-Libraries, among BRICS member countries.

3)Workers Rehabilitation Scheme :

Under this scheme a term loan is provided through State Channelizing Agencies, Regional Rural Banks and Nationalized Banks to the target group who are doing sewerage/drainage work in unhygienic working conditions.

Purpose :- So that they can do the cleaning work mechanically instead of manually. By purchasing various sanitation based equipments like Vacuum Loader, Garbage Disposal Vehicles, Suction Machine and Pay & Use Toilet for doing sewerage/cleaning/work mechanically & other sanitation related income generating activities etc.


4)4th December was the Indian Navy Day.

It started from 1971 when to commemorate the Indian Navy's attack on the Karachi harbour.

5)Sixth Ministerial Conference of the Heart of Asia Istanbul Process on Afghanistan started at Amritsar, India.

7)The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee received the first copy of a coffee table book ‘Betiyan’ at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (December 2, 2016). The book has been compiled and authored by Mrs. Kiran Chopra, Founder Chairperson, Varishth Nagrik Kesari Club.

8)Universal Immunization Programme : Under UIP, Government of India is providing vaccination free of cost against ten vaccine preventable diseases i.e. Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Polio, Measles, severe form of Childhood Tuberculosis, Hepatitis B and Meningitis & Pneumonia caused by Hemophilus Influenza type B across the country; Japanese Encephalitis in JE endemic districts and Rotavirus diarrhoea in selected states.

9)PMSSY:The Government under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) has decided to upgrade 71 existing Government Medical Colleges/Institutes (GMCIs) in the country under the Scheme at various phases

10)Dr. Karan Singh re-nominated as Chairman of Auroville Foundation, an autonomous body under HRD Ministry.
It may be added that Auroville (City of Dawn) is an experimental township in the state of Tamil Nadu, with some parts in the Union Territory of Puducherry.

The Government of India notified the constitution of Auroville Foundation as a Statutory Body on 29th January, 1991 as per the Auroville Foundation Act, 1988.
Today Auroville is recognized as International living experiment in human unity, endorsed by the UNESCO and supported by the Government of India.


11)Mission RAFTAAR : ‘Mission Raftaar’ was launched with the objective of  doubling of average speed of freight trains, and increasing the average speed of all non-suburban passenger trains by 25 kilometre per hour (kmph)  in next 5 years.
